After the resurrection this metaphor recedes to a secondary position in Christian discourse. The primary content of Christian proclamation is no longer the kingdom but rather Jesus Christ, in whom the kingdom of God is dynamically present. In proclaiming Christ, the Church is announcing the kingdom in a new way, for it is in him and through him that God chooses to reign.
